Rivka Weinstock is an artist, translator and educator originally from Brooklyn, NY. Her work oscillates between painting, collage and video projection, and investigates the body, everyday objects and landscapes as polyvalent lenses of history, memory and trauma. Rivka's praxis is informed by a poetics and aesthetics of the scrap, and she embeds found images and materials, and what is left behind, forgotten or otherwise unseen into much of her work. She holds a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning as well as a Masters of Fine Arts. Rivka currently works as the Educational Programs Director at an urban farm in Berkeley and she lives in the foothills of El Cerrito with her family and many plants.
